Online Therapy

Available to anyone physically located in Florida at the time of our session. While my office is located in Lutz, virtual therapy allows me to connect with clients from Jacksonville to Miami.

Online therapy can be just as engaging as it is in person. I use games, art activities, worksheets, and of course, engaging conversations so that your online mental health care is active and effective.

Online Therapy Makes It Easy To Get Mental Health Support:

Save Time

Hopping on and off an online appointment without having to drive to/from the office is convenient and easy to work into a busy schedule.

Comfort

Participating from your own home or office allows you to relax in your surroundings.

Flexibility

You have the option to rotate scheduled appointments between online therapy and in-office visits.

Access

Online access helps connect me to clients who aren’t able to come into the office because of distance, mobility issues or phobias.

Stay Connected

We can connect even when you’re on vacation, traveling for work or moving to a new city. Online therapy allows me to stay connected with my clients no matter where they are in Florida.

Online therapy is a confidential process and even if you’re juggling a million things, you have the right to your own space and time. Please make sure you have a private space to take our video calls. In order to get the most out of our time together, it’s important to stay present and engaged in the therapy call with little to no distractions.

The ultimate purpose of therapy is to help you bring what you learn in session and apply it into your daily life.

What is Therapy like?

Because each person has different issues and goals for therapy, your journey won’t look the same as someone else. In general, you can expect to discuss the current events happening in your life, your personal history relevant to your issue, and report progress (or any new insights gained) from the previous therapy session.

Active Participation

Therefore, beyond the work you do in therapy sessions, your therapist may suggest some things you can do outside of therapy to support your process – such as reading a pertinent book, journaling on specific topics, noting behaviors or taking action on your goals. People seeking psychotherapy are ready to make positive changes in their lives, are open to new perspectives and take responsibility for their lives.

“Stacey is an exceptional teacher and mentor. Working with her through hours of yoga training, she was determined, thoughtful and kind toward others. Stacey has fortitude to go out on her own and make the world a healthier more mindful world.” - Kathryn D.

I’ve Never Done Therapy Before. How Does It Work?

15-Minute Consultation

First, you’ll talk with me on a free 15-minute consult call. We’ll make sure I am a good fit for what you need. Therapy is a personal relationship and should be an enjoyable, fun, refreshing relationship. We’ll also talk about costs.

Then, we’ll schedule your first appointment and I will send you access to the balance portal where you’ll find all the legal authorization forms, practice policy and billing info.

Your First Session

Your first session is one hour long. We’ll talk about your past and what life looks like currently. You can expect that what you discuss in session will not be shared with anyone. I’ll create a treatment plan and goals that we’ll work on together in ongoing weekly sessions.

more information

Sometimes the therapeutic process will help you gain immediate results and sometimes it will take some time. It’s like learning a new skill, it takes practice and training to learn anything new.

I like to look at counseling like planting a garden, especially with pre-teens and teens. We keep planting seeds and eventually they grow and thrive, but it takes time, water, sunlight to nourish a seed to produce a leaf, let alone fruit. Counseling can also take time, skill practice and new ideas to see what works and practice to create new habits. It takes at least 30 days to create a new habit or way of thinking!

To determine if you have mental health coverage through your insurance carrier, the first thing you should do is call them. Check your coverage carefully and make sure you understand their answers. Some helpful questions you can ask them:

What are my mental health benefits?

What is the coverage amount per therapy session?

How many therapy sessions does my plan cover?

How much does my insurance pay for an out-of-network provider?

Is approval required from my primary care physician?
